Es convertix en un pilar fonamental de la comunitat mutxamelera fins a la desamortitzaci\u00f3 de 1835, quan se secularitzen els convents.<br \/>Actualment, en un projecte conjunt de l&#8217;Ajuntament de Mutxamel i l&#8217;esgl\u00e9sia arxiprestal El Salvador, es procedix a la rehabilitaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;edifici annex al convent. Un edifici emblem\u00e0tic per a la vida del poble, ja que en els anys 70 del segle passat va ser una guarderia dirigida per les monges de l&#8217;orde Merced\u00e0ries de la Caritat, per aix\u00f2 l&#8217;Arxiu Municipal convida a la ciutadania que compartisquen fotografies d&#8217;esta etapa, per a continuar recopilant i enriquint la hist\u00f2ria de Mutxamel.
